I'm a strong believer in using different computers for what they do best:
Pick the applications and software that you want to run and then find the
best computing platform that fulfills those needs. Yes, even the IBM PC has
its place in that equation!
That's why I suggested looking into the IIGS: It has the capabilities and
the s/w to do what Betty was asking about. There are upsides and there are
downsides to whatever computer she ends up with. If she wants to use that
computer for other purposes than primary-level education then my
recommendation may change. But I'd have to hear what the additional
requirements are first.
And to ensure that we don't end up in a holy war, I'll leave my comments at
that!
