So if I buy your vision of the Apple/IBM alliance, I should take a large home equity loan on my home and buy Commodore stock, right? :=) Apple and IBM have a number of reason to ally themselves. Apple gets instant respect in "IBM shops" and IBM RISC technology, IBM gets access to a user interface they can use across their entire (or nearly entire) computer line. Both will work towards increased multimedia performance as they see money there. That has to spell trouble for Commodore, who's bet the Amiga ranch on multimedia, in the future. This leaves UNIX and CDTV as revenue sources for the company. CDTV has not proved that there is even a market for the product and, if there is, they will have to share it with CD-I in the future. That leave UNIX to carry Commodore. UNIX appears to be a very crowded market and, therefore, a tough sell. Over the flight pattern… – via Whap!
