Hilary,
If you have an audio card, you need to separately install the Windows
3.1 audio drivers that came with your installation software. If you don't
have any Windows 3.1 drivers, you'll have to get them.
For the SoundBlaster Pro, there are three necessary drivers: MIDI
Synthesizer, Auxiliary Sound, and Pro Wave and MIDI Audio. You install
these by going into the Windows Main Group, Control Panel, Drivers, and
selecting "Unlisted or Updated Driver," etc. You also have to make a Midi
Mapper selection. In my case, Nautilus .wav and .mid files wouldn't play
until I selected "SBPro All FM," rather than "SBPro Basic FM" from the MIDI
Mapper.
