Gary The main reason why Intellifont hinting isn't passed to Type-3 fonts is that Type-3 fonts do not support hinting. In theory, there is no reason why a conversion shouldn't be made to Type-1 format … but that assumes that Intellifonts use the same basic graphics operators as Type-1 and that the hinting is done on the same basic concepts. It is my understanding that Intellifont hinting is undertaken in the Intellifont engine, which is incorporated into printers and into PStream and ProPage. Mike (Whapping from the UK)
