Workstation manufacturers have been courting Mac software developers
with some success. Perhaps within the next two or three years <fingers
crossed>.
Perhaps one major thing that drives Mac software developers is the
ability of the Mac's installed base to pay. Mac folks are often very well
heeled or budgeted (as in the art departments of news rooms and other
graphics "factories"). Myself, I can testify that I annually spend in the
thousands for Mac software.
