I tend to agree with you about the Japanese. My brother heard a Japanese businessman calling the Americans "cry babies" because "they can't compete." My understanding, and someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, is that the Americans are EXTREMELY limited to what we can import into Japan. I have heard we can not import beef (which Japan "must" kill whales) or wood products. Japan can flood the earth with electronic stuff make with near slave labor, fine. We can feed the world. I wish some maverick American company would come up with a well built/engineered VCR made completely in the USA. Heck, I'd start up the company myself if I had any money and knew what I was doing! <g>
