Ben, I have regular Amiga/Mac rivalry discussions with my son. James is definitely an Amiga fanatic now, just as he was an Atari (almost overbearing) fanatic during his youth (he still has a _very_ powerful Atari set-up, but seldom uses it these days). Believe me, he is quick to point out, while sitting at my Mac IIfx, anything that he feels is inferior to his Amiga. He also grudgingly admits that the Mac has the Amiga beat in other areas. As for myself, I fully admit that I'm essentially wearing blinders. That's right, I have never actually test drove James's impressive Amiga set-up. I have, however, been _forced_ <hehe> to sit through a demonstration or two in which he felt certain I'd be impressed. I was. While Macintosh's co-operative multitasking may have its advantages, the Amiga's preemptive is hard to beat. Perhaps the most impressive thing, though, is Amiga's greater sound fidelity, and I have my Mac connected to an amplifier and speakers! My hope is that the Mac will soon catch up with Amiga in stock sound ability. Apple has already made strides in that direction, which has brought on the long dreaded international lawsuit from Apple Recording. Apple Records confronted Apple Computer early on, and Apple Computer promised not to expand the Mac's sound abilities. Regards, —GeM
