Biz Grafix
Graphics in Paradox and Quattro are WAY too limited. Freelance would be
perfect if there were better page controls (snapping to grids, rulers,
alignment and text spacing/editing features) and PS output. I would not
consider using Windows if……I cant even think of a horrible enough
analogy; Windows runs under DOS; why limit your memory even further than it
already is just so you can have a lessthan-mediocre GUI, a nasty and
vengeful print spooler, and pay twice for all of your new software?
I hate to say it, but Harvard Graphics might be the way to go (the old
version was SO bad it was pathetic; objects moved between views, your
output NEVER matched your screen "representation" and you had very little
control over the angles of your charts, virtually NO import or export
facilities, to name but a few of it's grosser shortcomings)
I am starting to consider either writing my own or commissioning someone
else to do it. You know, the game companies like Psygnosis who REALLY know
Amiga graphics, are the most obvious choice, along with the folks who make
progs like Pagestream; it has more vectordrawing tools than most
vector-drawing packages! Too bad there is no ARexx port…….
…Superbase is an amazing DBase manager, but they can't make a decent
spreadsheet….
..and Amiga fans actually WONDER why no one takes them seriously (except
the video world <sigh>)
