Amen to that! As an experienced C programmer, I found Pascal to be backwards! I would always get confused declaring variables and trying to keep the structure declarations straight. A the time I was heavily programming in C, I was trying to take a data structures class in Pascal. Every night I would come home to do my homework, I would take about 15 minutes to reorient myself to pascal. It is true that they are close, but I don't think that is all that good. I have never had any problem mixing up C and FORTRAN, for instance. Another problem I had was that while programming in "standard" pascal, I would always try to add one to the value of the pointer (the address). This is allowable in C but is a no-no in pascal. As for the compiler, I think I will buy it, because the pascal I have now is the MetaComCo MCC Pascal, which is next to useless (I could never get it to do pointers correctly). Even though I had this compiler, I chose to use the Ultrix system pascal compiler through a 2400 baud modem because it was faster. Anyway, enough rambling…where's that order form! L. Johnson
