Jon If you've been downloading AFMs, then you've not actually been downloading fonts at all … only the data file that DTP and word processors need so they know how big each character in the font is. You'll need the .AFM file for PageStream, but you also need the PostScript font file which you won't usually find in teh Adobe forum because they are commercial products. Adobe makes these AFMs (plus bitmapped versions of the fonts) freely available so that DTPers can put their documents together and see roughly what they'll look like and then they go to a print bureau (which actually has the printer fonts) with their PostScript files and get a finished product. What you really need to do is go into the DTPforum and have a look … you'll find lots of Type-1 printer fonts there (most of them also have the .AFM file) and I would use these. There are some MAC-format PostScript font files about but most have been converted into PC format and are suitable for PageStream … and these you will find in the DTPforum. Mike (from the UK)
