4. Polygons – You should give the user the option of minimizing polygons on flat surfaces. This feature is found in the Data Manipulation section of Pixel-3D, and has served me quite well. I actually used this feature to optimize some colomns and arches built in a CAD program, and saved a considerable amount of both points and polygons. The polygon reduction in Pixel-3D also removes any redundant POINT that is not necessary to the shape of the polygon 5. Polygons – Flip alternating polygons (ie: from Sculpt-4D) when converting surfaces. Try to determine facing by the curve angle of the adjacent polygons. It would be nice if the user had an option for this. 6. Polygons – Give the user an option to remove doubled polygons on objects that have a closed interior. I have a ton of architectural objects that have twice as many polygons as they should, and I can't figure out a way to delete the interior objects. Heck, I'd be happy if you could just get rid of the doubled polygon, Id flip them myself if it deleted the wrong one. 7. Scale – Though you may not have control of this, the object was about 100x larger than it should have been. It would be cool if you prompted the user for a bounding box size (HeightxWidth) that would determine the final object size. 8. Degenerate objects – The knobs and the guitar neck were degenerate points, though it seems that they were that way in the original. Maybe you could warn the user when objects are found to consist of only one point. (Check out my replacement knobs, I think they're cool :^) 9. Points – As mentioned above, it would be cool if you could remove colinear points not necessary to the shape of the object. 10.Other features that would be cool – An option to ADD points to curves by using current points as control points on a spline curve. You could give the user options like adding points based on 'angle to next point' – this would allow you to smooth a curve by adding a point every N degrees along the interpolated spline curve. This would be a VERY useful feature.
