Sorry about the confusion. I was referring to Image Independence which is a computer independent (ie: the same exact code runs on every supported computer) image translation system. Image Independence consists of two parts… The first is a user interface…which is the part not done for Windows. The second part is all of the file format translation modules, which being the same for every computer *IS* done for Windows. The file format translation modules are written in such a way that any application (such as our Abekas driver) can take the place of the Image Independence user interface. That is, our Abekas driver makes direct use of all the translation modules we designed for Image Independence. Rather than hold off on the translation module availability until II is complete (and offering only three translation modules for the Abekas driver), we are instead going to include a large number of translation modules in the Abekas driver. The net effect is, the Abekas driver is compatible with not only the previously stated JPEG, TGA, and IFF, but also many other formats like SoftImage, Wavefront, SGI RGB, QRT, and a bunch of others.
