John: I'm also logging on from the UK. I use a Miracom Courier HST dual Standard with V.32bis. I think that this modem is a definately overpriced now. For around 250 you can get a powerful Supra Fax Modem which will transfer data at the quickest rate that Compuserve will allow (9600 baud) , it will also act as a fax machine. If you look in any of the Amiga magazines you will see companies selling this Modem at around the 250-260 mark. The software that I use for Compuserve (CIS) is Autopilot, which can be found in the AmigaVendor Forum in Library 9 (AP.LHA). If you are going to use CIS very much then I would strongly recommend it's use, it saves a great deal of time and therefore money. I run an Amiga 4000 but I also have two A1500's with Hard Drives and Autopilot works fine on these too. For other BBS's Autopilot will not work and you will need another package. I use Term v3 (available in this forum) at the moment but I have used NComm as well in the past. Both of these programs will work perfectly with your A1500 and any Hayes compatable Modem that you buy. I think that almost every modem on the market nowadays is Hayes compatible but do make sure. I hope this is a help. If there is anything else please ask. Greg
