Meridian Data sells the Philips 521 with our PERSONAL SCRIBE CD-ROM mastering
software. Or you can buy just the software from us. I like the 521, it's fast
and sturdy.
The 521 itself is capable of recording any sort of Multimedia disc your heart
desires. However, the software you use with the Philips may not support all
the Philips's modes. Broadly speaking, there are four types of multimedia
discs:
1. CD-ROM with audio files
2. CD-ROM with audio tracks.
3. CD-ROM XA
4. CD-I
Different progarms support different combinations of formats. PERSONAL SCRIBE
only supports type 1.
