Jack, As a PAS-16 user with an Iomega Insider-90 Bernoulli drive in the same 486 desktop, I've been considering the possibility of saving a slot by switching the connection to my Bernoulli drive from its proprietary 8-bit PC2B adapter to my PAS-16. I understand Trantor's SCSI-Works package would enable me to do that. I've gotten the impression, however, that using the PAS-16 in this way would probably not offer very impressive SCSI performance on the Bernoulli (or on a SCSI hard drive for that matter). Can you offer any insights about that question? As I'll soon be adding a Seagate ST-4766N (676mb) SCSI drive to my Gateway 4DX2-66V desktop (which contains the PAS-16, NEC CD-ROM, Bernoulli, etc.), I'm very interested in slot conservation by using a single SCSI adapter. I can borrow a one-year-old Bustek 16-bit SCSI adapter. Would that work and provide superior SCSI performance to the PAS-16? Thanks for any info you may be able to provide!
