Illuminator Pro
Kevin – Agree with most of your comments, and a few elaborations. The
Illuminator PRO has a CCR 601 version which has a resolution of 720X486 and the
YUC is an advantage is you want to use this board for D1 format which is where
this discussion started. It also has composite out which the Vista does not.
The CCR 601 version is touted as a true broadcast standard board. Which remains
to be seen. (Greg is getting one for evaluation.) I mentioned that TrueVision
had a Digital Vista (which is different than the standard AT Vista) with a
resolution of 720X486 and 4:2:2:4 to Martin K. and he mentioned the Matrox CCR
601 board which is 4:2:2. There is work on a daughter board to give the board
4:2:2:4 capability. The price difference is significant. If you are familiar
with the YUC component on the 640×480 version I am interested to know what type
of monitors you've seen used with these YUC boards. Thanks, -JE
