John, Why don't you just use the Copy with EPS option in Illustrator? All you need to do is create the object(s) and group it together in Illustrator (make sure it's selected) and then hold down the OPTION key as you go to the Edit menu and choose Copy. Illustrator will copy both the PICT image and the Encapsulated PostScript and then all you need to do is Paste it into Word and there should be a reasonably tight bounding box around the graphic. I think that Illustrator (when you save as an EPS) creates a bounding box for the entire page whereas we only want it to be around the specific objects. Other saved-as-EPS 2: objects had tight boxes, I wasn't sure why this didn't. 3: 4: Uh oh. I just fired up the Mac to try this, and it didn't w 5: ork. Same size bounding box. All that's in this graphics 6: is a half-dozen words, some scaled in non-nuniform saways 7: (they look tawider than tellall) and all are cetnnter-justified. 8: I swear I'm only selecting these workdrds, and there's 9: othinothing else on the page. 10: 11: Maybe another questions i is , "why aren't there crop controls 12: on eachall four sides of each graphic.?" 13: /sendpost Message # 70495 posted
