Philip Rond: I got the beta version from INTERNET. Sony's BBS (long distance) did not have it when I was looking for it in March 93. The "add" file is generated when you unzip the Sony CDU31a ZIP file on CIS. I can say for sure that this driver WORKS even if a little slow. I am now using the Sonyb31a.add file in my config.sys file on OS/2 and I get the CD icon both on my OS/2 desktop and on the drive line when I run WINOS2. But, CAUTION!!!. More than this driver is needed the CONFIG.SYS file. Since there were no instructions from IBM for use of ANY CD Drive DRIVERS not listed when OS/2 version 2.1 (retail) is installed, I had to trial&error test combinations until I found a configuration that WORKED. Took several hours. I loaded EVERYTHING in my config.sys file that EVEN MENTIONED CD, CDROM, etc. in the CONFIG.SYS file on the disk 1 of the install pair…note carefully, the disk 1 of the install pair that you make when installing from the OS2 2.1 CD version.
