#Expanded Memory
I'm having trouble with my config.sys file. I have a 486SX25 PC, 4MB Ram, 124MB
hard drive,ISA/AT/Classic Bus, 640K of conventioal memory, 3072K of extended
memory,SVGA, Pro Audio Spectrum 16 Sound card, also MS-DOS 5.0. I installed a
Sony CD-ROM and it came with a CD game called "MANTIS". The installation tells
me that I need at least 768K of expanded memory but when I change the line in
my config.sys file from "DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS" to
"DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE ON 780" The game starts but re-boots my PC after
about 10 seconds. I don't think I have a IRQ or DMA conflict but I'll wait to
see what some CD-ROM users suggest. Thanks for any help.
P.S. I plan on calling MICROPROSE Software monday but just couldn't wait
because I've gotten some good suggestions from the CD-ROM forum before.
Thanks again. Karen Zimmerman
