NEC 84 Fit problem
I have come across a minor problem while installing a NEC CDR84JD-1
drive in my Epson Equity 486DX2 50 Plus. Specifically, because of the outer
trap door on this unit (the CD Rom drive), there is not enough clearance to get
the drive through the faceplate of the computer.
Has anyone else had this problem. I don't want to carve away on the front
plate of the computer. I have shaved a little off the projecting part on the
front of the drive. I hesitate to take off any more, but it looks like I'll
need to remove another 1/8" on both sides to make this work. That is, unless
someone else has run into this problem and has a more creative idea, or else
I'm overlooking something terrible obvious.
Thanks for the assistance. John
