Clint – The DXF format would work just fine for what I want. My suggestion had
to do with reducing the amount of information going to 3DS by specifying a
*portion* of the DEM to export, rather than necessarily doing the whole thing,
which I gather could potentially swamp 3DS with polygons. If the DXF thang is
already on your list, I'll just shut up and get out of the way. Of course a DXF
export would open doors to MANY peices of software on a variety of
platforms….
