DAT streamer 2.) Digital harddiskrecording 3.) Normal audio DAT It not a real sound card and not a real controller. The conection form the board to the audio DAT are optical wires. In order to control the DAT you have a infrared sensor which emulates the remote control of the DAT. So all operationes are controlled via remote control, the optical wires are only for data I/O. You not really need the AD/DA converter for normal audio, the AD/DA converter from the DAT are better. You can record normal digital audiosignals to the harddisk and then you can edit them. A sound editing multitrack software is included. What Martin said, its also possible to found every file in ca. 1 minute maximum 3 minutes, it depends where the file is on the DAT tape.
