The trick is to get the "date" command to prompt for the command-line
arguments, so it will read from the input device. Issuing the command
"date ?" will result in the command prompting you with
"DAY,DATE,TIME,TO=VER/K:" and waiting for you to enter the parameters.
Consequently, if you enter the command:
date <ram:mydate >nil: ?
you will get the desired results.
