I think feedback from beta testers helped to convince Innovision that their
Postscript module's availability would broaden their market to include those
Toaster owners who are upgrading to 3.0. Since the Toaster's postscript CG
fonts are resizeable, there really isn't any point to marketing a module that
would only import fixed sizes. You mentioned Innovision's font packs for
MONTAGE, I really don't feel that font packs are much of a comodity now that
Postscript fonts are available to the platform thru Compugraphic and the new
Toaster upgrade.
It's a shame that Newtek isn't being more co-operative with Innovision (or any
other vendors for that matter) because products like MONTAGE make the Toaster
even more desireable. As an example; If I purchase a new car, and I decide that
I want to pay to have the engine souped up or the body customized, it's not
because of a definciency of the car, it's just that I may want more than the
average buyer, and I'm willing to pay extra for it. You would think that after
all the chest beating that Newtek has done over the years and their complaints
about how CBM has had no vision of the real marketplace, that they (Newtek)
would make some effort to support the efforts of companies that wish to enhance
the market for their product.
