Don, You were correct….Of course…How could I have doubted it for a moment….The cards Serial Number checked out as a Regular VGA Producer shipped to the Distributor in Jan. 1990 and since the first VGA Producer PRO's shiped Nov. 1991 it's a oldy for sure. Like you said the VGA Director was probably no great loss but I really could have used Zoom and some of the other features. I think I'm learning a good lesson here as I've already purchased the Video Breakout cable, Remote Control with modular phone jack cable, BNC-to–Phono Adapters and the wrong operators manual. I also just had them send me the VGA Director Manual and Software. Which is of little use since it's the original VGA Producer. After all this I find I can't use the RAMDAC IC Interface Board "Old Technology" and had to spend al _lot_ more $ for the "Brooktree Chip Connector" which I received Federal Express today so I could get things running this weekend only to find out that the Tech. at Magni I first talked too didn't realize what I was saying when I told him I had to remove the VGA Daughterboard from my Rendition II GRX Graphics card to get at the Brooktree Pallette chip. Of course the second tecnician has just told me that the Magni wouldn't replace the VGA so I need to "Buy" another VGA card and use the Feature connector to get standard VGA. Problem is I've now run out of Buss Slots and would have to remove my internal Fax/Modem to plug in the new VGA FEEature Connector Rig. Thereby forcing me to spend much more for an External Fax/Modem. All this is bringing the cost close to what a NEW VGA Producer PRO would cost me as a dealer demo and I'm wondering if that would solve my current problem as I thought the newer card would work through the output connection from my VGA/HI-Res GRX card with NO modifications or extra connectors to purchase. That would also solve my Buss problem although I'll probably have to go to an external soon anyway to plug something else in. Whatdaya think… time to forget saving money with old technology? Will the New VGA Producer Pro work Through the Monitor OUt to an In on the Magni Card? Will Boris and Natasha ever catch Moose and Squirrel? And will Michele Ever Forgive Me?
