Bob,
Is there anyway to redirect the record panel commands from the internal
serial port to another serial port or an arexx port?
I have a Cozzy/A3000 along with a 2232 multiserial card and a panasonic
2022 OMDR. The laser disc recorder is running from the multiserial board
and the 2232 requires that the serial.device be replaced in the system
software.
When I boot with the native serial.device Lightwave's recorder outputs to
the serial port o.k. but the 2022 is on the multiserial board and not
accessable. If I booth with the 2232 serial.device the laserdisc works fine
but Lightwave claims that it cannot find the serial port. The system CMD
command also says that the native serial port is in use even though it is
not.
I do not want to move the laserdisc to the native serial port since this
would involve extensive rewriting of all the utility scripts I have written
in Arexx to controll it. Are you aware of anyway to way to resolve the
conflict between the two serial.device drivers short of waiting for a
re-write of LightWave's recorder routines? Is there a version of CMD that
is compatible with the A2232 multiserial board?
It seems to me that it should be easier to redirect the serial data stream
at the system level rather than re-writing programs that left out support
for multiserial cards. I am at a loss as to how to do this.
BTW my A3000 has 2.04 Roms installed.
Thank You, Patrick 72210,1702
