The reference to a specific page in your book is a big help too, as I have trouble finding specific info in there (I earlier suggested an improved index for just that reason). I'll give it a try and you'll see me again if I get stuck on another point!:-) – Burt PS: It seems that this "who owns what and how do I tell it what I want" is the hardest part of transitioning from C to C++.
