Your description of the new GUI for AAP reflects my initial feeling about the interface. I confess that in the past year or so I had more or less abandoned hope that the AAP interface would EVER resemble every other graphics program on the market (pardon the exaggeration). I do not see that a change of the interface would represent a learning curve for almost anyone, since adhering to what has become the industry standard can only HELP people to use, like and exploit the program (and buy more of them). Your layering suggestions are also very good. I was thinking of the least programming on the part of Autodesk to get the effect. Your idea is much better, just would demand more of a committment from the ADesk persons.
