What would really change the impression of overly complex menus that 3DS gives to a first time user would be to put the menus in the horizontal menu bar area and use hierarchical submenus like on the Mac and Windows. Also a simple Help system that lists the menu names for different tasks would be an enormous aid to understanding. I think to keep the program compliant with Autocad the menus ended up as they are.
