Of course software for UPmarket systems like the Indigo has to be more expensive than software for cheaper (and thus, widely-spread) systems like the Amiga or Mac or PC. There's 100 Miliion PCs out there (oh, well…), 10 Million Apples and 5 Million Amigas and maybe just as many Ataris. Spread the cost to develop a software for a system among the number of sales it's likely to get and take into consideration the price of the system itself (people with 15,000$ systems are usually willing to pay more than people with 600$ systems) and there you are… Funny that the prices for PC 'standard software' are still so high – oh, well, as long as people are actually paying the asked prices, who cares? (Superbase 4 Pro for the Amiga (english version) sells for about 175$ in Germany, the German version for about 235$, and the PC version for about 765$ which is 3 to 4 times the price of the Amiga version, and the PC version has SOLD over one million(!) copies there.) // Chris coming in from Germany \X/ on AutoPilot 1.051……….
