Steven, with OS/2, cache ram numbers are also important. A 256K cache board
seems *lots* faster than a 64K cache, all other things being equal. I use a
486/33 with 8MB and have no speed problems except when entering and exiting the
Windows environment, which generates lots of reading and writing.
FWIW, I find Release 2.1 MUCH better than 2.0 in terms of crash resistance and
data integrity as well as serial port i/o. The 2.1 Docs are also much better
and include a section on fine tuning the OS for speed.
