Maxtor+AMax, be careful!

Just got off the phone with Maxtor. Seems they have specific firmware
revisions for Macintoshes. These TLA numbers are the only ones that will
work with Amigas and Macs (AMax):
TLA 964442 5; 964440 5-3; 9644430-1; or 9644488-2.
I got a Maxtor LXT340SY from Safe Harbor and it works fine on the Amiga.
But Neither Raymond at ReadySoft nor I could get AMaxII+ (2.53; 2.55 or
2.56) to work. The system would always freeze up at HD access time.
So, Beware of the the Maxtor LTA # you get. The drive is great on the
Amiga, but useless with AMax if the firmware is not Mac compatible.
I'll call ReadySoft on Monday and tell them.

PS Maxtor tech support was great, they're sending me the new drive, then I
send back the wrong one. Easy as pie.
