see my post to Bill… I've seen 12 satellites often, but the low ones were not so good! The shift you saw may not have been due to SA… it could also be due to multipath ( reflections), especially with canyon walls around you. With 3 satellites, working in a canyon is quite problematic. I presume that you're using a fixed height to get your solution, since if you're not, you'll need 4 satellites anyway. I suspect that the PDOP of the 3 satellites you were actually tracking would be very high, if they were all in one small secgment of sky defined by the canyon. One signal subject to reflection would contaminate your result quite badly. Rob
