Second message: remember, the satellites are orbiting very high, so it's not
physically impossible to have 12 above the horizon at all, even at a relatively
low height. Trimble sells some PC software for producing maps of satellites in
view/ geometries etc… quite a useful planning tool if you're doing a lot of
canyon work.
