Hmm… That sort of depends on what sort of work you'll be using it for. If you're looking to get a "fair match", then Schreiber's definitely best. Quicksurf I have had little to no experience with. If you're looking for high quality representations, then you should probably post the message to "All", as I don't know too much about the high end. However, if you're talking about "enter contours in Acad, dxfout, and work with the model in 3ds3?", that sounds much more simple. There's a value in the 3DS.SET file that refers to (again, I'm going off of memory so allow me some room for error) DXF (circle/curve etc.) segments. If you've created (already) contours in AutoCad, turning the value for this setting up will smooth the meshes introduced in 3D Studio. I'm sure you know 3DS can load DXF files straight, so there ya go. You should probably buy the Schrieber demo disk. If you've got a CD Rom, you can see (and purchase immediately) almost every Schreiber IPAS and AutoCad module they have. It costs only $15.00. Check the IPAS Listing text file for Schreiber's number.
