If I'm not mistaken, LOW uses the pallete from the first frame, MED re-calcs the pallete each frame then creates optimized pallette from all frames, HIGH temporarily writes 24-bit frame files, then creates 8-bit optimized pallete from that considering all frames, CUSTOM lets you specify a flic, .col file, etc. to use. Therefore, I usually use MED, as the results are much faster & usually not distinguishable from HIGH. I never create flics that large, but the spatial res. doesn't really matter unless one argues to use HIGH, as you could "see" more imperfections due to the higher spatial res….I'd still use MED. BILL
