Well… I think your good wishes helped. After getting no where by pulling and
re-inserting IC's I considered the possibility that my boot HD was faulty and
disrupting the rest of the SCSI chain. Sure enough after a HD transplant I was
back in business, and now I no longer need to warm things up to get my A3000 to
work (so I lost my Quantum 200MB – maybe due to "sticktion"?). I'm down 120MB
(my largest "extra HD was 80 MB), but I now have a fully functional A3000!
