I have an old Seagate hooked up to my A2091 with Quantum and it was just very, very slow to boot. So much so that it wouldn't be recognized on initial bootup, since the controller polling it would find nothing. A warm reboot always discovered it. You could try running SCSIMounter (on the libs here) to get info on the new Seagate, such as its unit number. You can't have it set to Unit 7, by the way. If that's the problem I am not sure how you go about changing the Unit I.D. on the drive itself; there's probably a jumper. — RON LEGRO / Milwaukee via Autopilot 1.73 "Accept nothing less than a high standard of standardness."
