A1000 help-Please!
Help ! I'm attempting to upgrade my A1000 to 2.04 OS but have hit a snag. The
1000 was purchased used with 512K, and I've since added a DKB Insider II and
Kwikstart II to bring the memory up to 2 megs. My first step to 1.3 OS went
very well…the setup worked fine. But when I went to the 2.04 chip 6 months
later, something went a little haywire. The system software all seems to
function fine and loads very quickly from my hardrive as 1.3 did. But the
programs I've loaded don't run well if at all. Example : Final Copy will load
most of the time, but hangs up in use. ProWrite will hang during loading unless
I turn off fast ram first, and all of my paint software will hang very easily.
My communications program, Amigaterm, seems to work fine. My technical guru
here and I have tried all the really ovbvious remedies to no avail and now seek
the wis- dom of all fellow Amigans who care to offer a solution or even a
guess. There's no prize involved here but you would of course have the satis-
faction of knowing that you had helped. And thanks for your support. Thanks in
