The ATVista is a great board, still one of the best out there. I use an Illuminator Pro, which has on-board CCIR-601 and D1 output with optional Toccata board, but if you've already got an ATVista and don't need digital output, then you're all set. Martin's comments re the PAR and MAX are almost right on. They do have excellent output (not quite up to single framing w/ BetaSP, but close). The MAX, however, is definitely not inferior in output to the PAR, I rather think it's superior. It has greater throughput (@ 25% faster HD througput), upgradeable to 2 HD array for visually lossless jpeg, and as Martin said, it fits nicely into a non-linear editing situation. The article Martin referred to was written by a fellow who was completely unable to configure the MAX properly, for what reason I don't know. John Tissavary (LUNA cie)
