While Gus is a great programmer, and all around nice guy, he is probably not the only person out there who knows how to force a thermal recalc. The MAX forces recalcs at all operations other than jpeg playback, so there's no issue there. BTW, there's a SCSI version of the Mic AV. It's definitely slower than the Barraccuda, and not recommended by Matrox (I think it won't work, as a matter of fact). Plus, with SCSI's ability to do higher level arrays, throuput is just a matter of controller and buss capabilities. The MAX w/o Illuminator Pro lists for @ $3000, I _think_, but I don't know for sure. John Tissavary (LUNA cie)
