Out of the 352 GIF-256-color pics, all but about 20 are royalty-free. The remaining pics (24-bit, etc) are copyright and licensing fees depend on the use, and may be not charged for some applications. I don't want these pics on some rock video without being paid, basically. Anyone can use the 24-bit pics for their own enjoyment, viewing, personal non-commercial non-reproduction projects, etc. They may not be reproduced, distributed without the CDROM itself, broadcast, used for commercial projects, etc. without permission. Perfectly reasonable, like original art in any printed art book, etc. For big project with a high budget, I'll charge commensurate licensing fees. I'm not trying to choke the small-budget artist, just to be reasonable and maintain ownership of my creative endeavour (my own art, so to speak). ALL uses do require a statement of the origin of the material be included when it is used, e.g. From the FractalPro Image Library, by permission. Like that. I think you'll find my terms are not 'gun to the head'. The readme file on the CDROM has the whole bit in fairly explicit terms. I hope this doesn't sound too restrictive – it's just a fair way to keep things above board and a meaningful copyright.
