<< I need some tips for creating a realistic explosion effect that will be composited over some live video. >> Using various YG routines, composite 2 Firework/Explode cubes (disk #4) – one set to cause the fragments to fall straight down. Experiment to find the right fragment size range for the subject. Add some Smoke (disk #2) initially, composited with the oil fire flic from disk #6 on some object bounding volume. Then bring in Vapor & Flame from disk #6. Use Flame/Vapor morphing to show secondary fires breaking out in various locations. Use several types of Vapor with different colored vapor materials. Have all but one Vapor instance die out, leaving one with cigarette type emissions. Fiddle with your Shadow map parameters to really fuzz-up the Vapor shadows, if they are going to be falling on any objects in the scene. Looks good. BILL
