I think they chose EISA because of its buss throuput (33mb per second)
capabilities, and because it is the most proven, solid PC architecture out
there. My guess is they were more confident in the short term with EISA. I'll
bet when PCI gets a track record, and the spec tightens up or whatever these
developers feel they need, both companies will release PCI versions or new
products based on PCI.
