David: I can't offer an answer to your problems, but I might be able to offer some hardware help. I just upgraded my 4000 w/ one of the WarpEngines from MacroSystems – this means I've got a spare A2091 controller lying around. I've used it in the 4000 for over a year, and (except for being dog slow) it's worked just fine. If you use the util called MapBoard, you can get speeds of up to 300KB/s. I'd be willing to let the 2091 go for $60 + s/h… Interested? Erik Flom
