i think you have two ways of doing this.
either buy the flame ipas or use some real flame images and using a paint
program edit the flame portion of the images and make alfa chanels for them.
then use these images as ifl image maps and use the alpha chanel images as
opacity maps for a flame material in material editor. map this material on a
flat polygon.
