Hope y'all don't mind my jumping in. As a new Toaster owner and eager to get myr new Flyer, I was glad to see how strongly you felt about the Toaster's advantages over some of its competition. But also curious as to specifically what you saw the advantages to be. My understanding is that the Fast system, with its revamped dual channel digital player will offer similar capacities to the Toaster/Flyer for a reasonably similar price. I h ave heard that Matrox produces very high quality output. Both these systems seems quite expandable with strong future support. I have only seen D'Vision once and it seemed reasonable though, I suppose using DVI technology is older generation; but if the quality is good, and the output is video as opposed to CD Rom, that's might be okay. Part of the issue is perhaps what people consider to be reasonable cost differences. I suppose this depends on revenue expectations. Being new, I have no idea as to what revenues people expect to earn from using their Amiga/Fast or whatever for production. By the way, Joshua Mellicker made a comparison between Fast and Toaster (not too complimentary to Toaster) on a number of dimensions in the Fast Forum (MultiMedia Vendors) on June 23rd. Subject was "Why VM". Maybe a Toaster expert (not me) could review it. Michael
