Actually, Photo CD and Portfolio are not doing so badly in Europe. Kodak
players are widely available here, and we've sold a fair number of packages of
Photo Theatre. The Portfolio format has a lot going for it — low development
cost, automatic multiplatform capability including cheap platforms, simplicity
for the end user. You just have to be willing to spend some time educating the
public. I have given up mentioning the word "Portfolio" in the US because no
one seems to have heard of it. But when I say "low-cost multiplatform
multimedia CD-ROM presentation builder," people's ears prick up.
Portfolio could survive in spite of Kodak, and I think deserves to.
