We have used a JVC Archiver ( old single speed ) for about a year now and during this time we have experienced various problems reading the CD's produced -> some very common drives will not read *some* CD 's produced. It seems to be predominantly large ( > 400 Mb ) ones that cause problems, but this is not always the case. Below is a summary of findings so far :- old SONY single speed SCSI OK NEC triple speed SCSI OK SONY CDUxx OK Panasonic (Creative Labs badged ) Fails some Pioneer 6 stack, quad speed Fails some Nakamichi 7 stack, double speed Fails some The situation is becoming intolerable as we are backing up v. important work on CD, and inparticular cannot read back on our servers CD stackers ( Pioneer or Nakamichi ) Any advice ? Is this JVC a 'known' problem area ? If we have to we will dump the JVC and buy a replacement -> any advice on which ones do not have *any* problems reading back on common CD's Any advice appreciated, Gav
