Yes I've had no problems with TDK, Sony, Ricoh, and generic brand cyanine
disks but have had problems with Mitsui, Kodak and generic brand pthalocyanine
disks. A firmware upgrade for the RCD1000 is supposed to take care of the
"laser over-bruning" problem that caused the problem with Pthalocyanine disks.
We prefer the pthalocyanine disks because they are supposed to be more
archival, which is the business we are in (preservation of images and data).
I am still testing the new firmware and software but so far am happy with
the results.
